The future of Europe

Right now, the EU has to ask itself what it wants to be and do, whether to be a large unified market or else a community sharing a common destiny. And with what, if any, borders?

Even if the diplomatic environment is not favourable, the geopolitical situation is an opportunity for the EU to highlight its usefulness in making an impact on international regulations and on the global diplomatic scene, continuing to guarantee peaceful monetary and trade relations, demonstrating that shared sovereignty is often more powerful than national sovereignty, and that integration (political, monetary) is often easier to manage than coordination (fiscal policy, etc.).
